Roll-A-Ball
A Unity game built for young children, where players roll a ball to collect pickups within a time limit. Features multiple levels with increasing difficulty and extended time allowances as levels progress.
Fixing Things, and Building Them
Placements and ongoing technical roles — the systems, the faults and the fixes.
Diagnosed and rebuilt laptops for deployment across a housing provider, using Active Directory and Azure to manage accounts and access. Worked across Azure AD user management, file server administration and Hyper-V virtualisation, alongside frontline hardware support for staff — tracking faults from failed display cables to a Bluetooth keyboard conflict that was disabling built-in keyboards.
Kept computers maintained and network connectivity consistent for staff and students across a college site. Responded to classroom and office requests — hard drive repair, multi-monitor setups for teaching staff — and deployed fresh Windows installations over the network.
Lead technical operator for weekly services: PA setup, live audio mixing, voice-over recording and real-time presentation screens. Faults have to be diagnosed and fixed while the service is running, with no option to take the system offline. Also maintain the organisation's laptops, website and YouTube channel.
Receive, diagnose and repair phones, laptops and tablets, then quote and price the work. Most of the job is explaining the fault and the options to the person who owns the device, in language they can act on.
Carry out PAT testing on electrical stock at the Green House Shop, confirming items are electrically safe before they reach the shop floor and recording the results — practical electrical safety work running alongside the retail side of the role.
Things built for the sake of building them — games, apps and hardware.
